Before I tried the Lust Dust edible body powder, I have to admit I had a somewhat dismissive attitude towards these sorts of sexy flavored body products. To be perfectly frank, I thought body dust was a holdover from the quaint pre-Sex-and-the-City era, back when we had to sprinkle our partners with sugary substances so we didn’t feel funny about putting our mouths on each other. However, after giving the Lust Dust a full trial run, I must say that if I were to cover a naked partner with a dessert-like substance, Lust Dust would be my top choice.
Perhaps body powders have come a long way since a misplaced puff of Kama Sutra Honey Dust gave me an allergy attack (which, admittedly, was a good decade ago), or perhaps Lust Dust is just a cut above. The Lust Dust in Strawberry Chocolate has a scent and taste that can only be described as delicious, without any of the irritating perfume or noxiously fake odor one might fear from such a product. I wanted to eat it right out of the jar. And although I didn’t (really!) the refreshingly short and simple ingredient list leads me to believe that I could have, without any really adverse consequeces: it’s just constarch, sugar, and flavoring.
The one flaw with the product is the puff that’s provided for application. Unless your lovers stand no more than two inches tall, this wimpy little puff isn’t going to cut it. Get yourself a nice fluffy makeup brush to put it on with, or better yet, dip a feather in it.
You’ll want to use a light touch when applying. The dust is light and fine-textured, but can leave a powdery look on the skin if you apply too much. A fine dusting leaves no visible trace, but will make skin smell and taste downright luscious. It’s so subtle, you could even wear it as a regular body powder when you’re feeling edible. Dust it on before a hot date, and then come back for more when it’s time for dessert.
